Although it is true the vaccine will protect against becoming deathly ill, there is no feasible way this virus will ever be eradicated. For instance, they state “strong vaccination rates are the only way we will eradicate this pandemic”.
#SONOROS AURARIA CAMPUS UPDATE#
In CU Denver’s update titled “Masks Required Indoors for Everyone to Defend Against Delta Variant”, they clearly indicate that eradicating the pandemic is their intent. Such unreasonable goals will only create an endless war against the virus. The solution to preventing high rates of death and hospitalizations is the vaccine.Īuraria Campus' recent mask requirements were implemented with the intention of “eradicating” COVID-19 – something that is not feasible since COVID will always be with us in some capacity.

They are protected from COVID-19 - as are the overwhelming majority of students, staff, and faculty on the Auraria Campus. The original goal of the lockdowns and requiring the general public to wear masks was to mitigate the spread of the virus to prevent hospitals from being overwhelmed. Unfortunately, the goal has shifted from preventing the virus from hospitalizing people to preventing cases of the virus. These are the people we are trying to protect. As of August 10, 2021, 82% of those 80+ years old have received at least one dose, 90.93% of those 70-80 years old received at least one dose, 80.46% of those 60 to 69 received at least one dose. As of August 06, 2021, 84% of the MSU Denver students and employees on campus for Fall 2021 are either fully vaccinated or partially vaccinated against COVID-19 87% of CU Denver students received at least one dose of the vaccine while 97% of CU Denver employees who disclosed their vaccination status received the vaccine and 71.55% of eligible adults in Colorado have received the vaccine. In the State of Colorado, over 80% of the most vulnerable Coloradans (ages 60 and up) are vaccinated. There is widespread availability of COVID-19 vaccine – which protects the vast majority of vaccinated individuals from becoming seriously ill from COVID-19.

The world continues to combat COVID-19 and the new Delta variant however, unlike one year ago, there is now a solution.
